Wanted Bennington man caught after tip

BENNINGTON, Vt. – Bennington police have arrested a wanted man after receiving a tip about his location.

Donald W. Hurley, 20, of Bennington, was on arrest warrant status for heroin and cocaine sales as well as conspiracy with a bail of $15,000.  There was a second arrest warrant for DUI, Assault, Unlawful Trespass and Conditions of Release violations.  

On Friday night, police responded to the residence and while speaking with the apartment occupants, Hurley fled from the back of the apartment in an attempt to flee the police.  

Officer Robert Murawski was guarding the rear of the apartment and chased after Hurley, capturing him. 

Hurley was arrested on the two outstanding arrest warrants and taken to the Marble Valley Correctional Center in lieu of cash bail.  Additional charges are being brought against Mr. Hurley to include possession of a syringe with heroine in it and resisting arrest.  

Hurley will be arraigned on the arrest warrants and new charges on Monday, March 4, 2013 at the Superior Court of Vermont, Bennington Criminal Division.
