Team Lydia: Spreading the News to Find a Cure

GREAT NEWS!

You can make your donation count twice as much thanks to SEFCU! They have come on board to match the first $25,000 in donations to Team Lydia! So your $50 donation now becomes $100, your $100 donation now becomes $200, ect, with the SEFCU match!

And remember to watch weekly segments of Capital Region families impacted by blood cancers Wednesday night on NEWS10 at 6pm and FOX23 News at 10pm.

Dear Friends,

We all know someone who's been touched by cancer. My dad was a colon cancer survivor. There have been many strides made in screening and treatment, but as I saw with a friend whose beautiful 3-year-old son succumbed after a more than year-long valiant battle with leukemia, much more still needs to be done..

I'm asking for your help as I start a ten-week fundraising campaign for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS), the world's largest voluntary health organization dedicating to funding blood cancer research.

I only have between March 1st and May 6th to raise money & awareness for this extremely important cause! Please join me in supporting The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society by making a donation to my fundraising campaign. Every dollar I raise counts as one vote and the candidate who gets the most votes/raises the most money is named the local Man or Woman of the Year.

Since its founding in 1949, LLS has provided more than $750 million for research which has resulted in several significant discoveries, including chemotherapy and bone marrow transplants. One person is diagnosed with a blood cancer every four minutes in the U.S. Nearly 958,000 Americans are currently living with blood cancers, including Capital Region men, women and children.

Here's how you can join me in making a difference:

→ Business owners have various sponsorship levels from $1,000 to $7,500 that include tickets to the Grand Finale Program  on May 10th and an ad in the Program book; program ads only are available for $250 and $500; donations of goods or gift certificates for gift baskets auctioned off at the Grand Finale Program; setting aside proceeds from a day or sale of certain items during the 10-week campaign.

→ Individuals can help by:

◊ Making a donation online: http://www.mwoy.org/pages/uny/alb13/lkulbida
◊ Mailing a check made out to "The Leukemia Lymphoma Society" to Lydia Kulbida at News10ABC, 341 Northern Blvd., Albany, NY 12204
◊ Attending events & supporting businesses selling items to benefit the LLS Campaign

Details can be found at the Team Lydia: Spreading the News for a Cure Facebook page.

Buy tickets to the Grand Finale at http://www.mwoy.org/pages/uny/alb13/lkulbida

These ten weeks will go by very quickly. I hope I can count on your support to continue the important research done by LLS into blood cancers and together we can "Spread The News To Find A Cure"!
