COLONIE, N.Y. - Colonie Police have arrested a Massachusetts man for allegedly exposing himself at a local spa.

Colonie police tell NEWS10 they have arrested 46-year-old John Owensby of Clarksburg, Massachusetts and that he is now facing a charge of public lewdness.

Police claim Owensby paid a visit to the Evo Salon on Loudon Road in July 2012 and asked to see an esthetician over what he apparently said was a 'skin condition.'

"He wanted to talk in private," said Evo Salon manager Julie Silvernail, "He said he had a rash and needed bleaching cream. I said I was a hair dresser and don't know anything about skin."

But according to Colonie detectives, once alone with Silvernail, Owensby took off his pants and showed the salon employee his privates and then asked her to touch him.

"I kind of ignored what he was doing and opened the door to leave," Silvernail said.

Police believe he may be responsible for similar incidents at other area salons over the past couple years, saying he was doing this for sexual gratification, not because he had a medical condition.

Police say the arrest happened after employees recognized Owensby when he tried to visit the salon again recently and they took down his license plate number.
