The LED lighting retrofit stretches over both commercial and residential street areas and includes replacing the previous, inefficient mercury vapor (MV) and high pressure sodium (HPS) street light fixtures with more energy efficient functional LED lighting fixtures and ornamental LED lighting fixtures.

That yellow-green glow that the mercury vapor fixtures emitted and the orange look that the high pressure sodium lights seemed to cast over the streets are gone.”    

The street lighting LED retrofit also qualifies East Caln Township for receiving cost reduction incentives from their local utility company and, in addition is projected to reduce East Caln Township’s greenhouse gas emissions by more than 32,000 pounds per year (equivalent to 94 trees saved per year).
