Hiram Morales
TROY, N.Y. -- Police in Troy first started investigating a rash of break-ins in the Lansingburgh neighborhood back in January of this year.
The initial investigation linked 30-year old Hiram Morales of Troy to the car break-ins, according to investigators, but in the past month several more victims have reported their cars being broken into and items stolen.
Items like GPSs and purses were being stolen from vehicles during the initial break-ins, and police say they were able to trace stolen credit cards back to Morales, leading to his arrestd on January 22, 2013.
Morales will be arraigned Tuesday in Troy on charges of two charges of Petit Larceny, four charges of Criminal Mischief and three felony counts of Grand Larceny.
Detectives are now working to make the appropriate connections between admissions made by Morales and the reported thefts.
Police are interested in having those persons with credit or debit cards stolen to contact detectives via the telephone tip line at 279-7911.
