SARATOGA COUNTY, N.Y. -- Saratoga
County lawmakers are joining the list of those voicing opposition to the New
York SAFE Act.
The law, signed by Governor
Andrew Cuomo last month, makes New York's gun control laws the strictest in the
country.
In a statement, the Saratoga
County supervisors say the law goes too far, has major flaws, and was rushed.
Resolutions against the
law have already been passed in many other local counties.
The Saratoga County Sheriff
joined a lawsuit against the law last week, and Monday, the Saratoga County Sheriff's
Union sent a letter to the governor, voicing its opposition to the law.
