Teen dies in weekend ATV accident

BEEKMAN, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities say a 15-year-old boy has died after crashing his all-terrain vehicle on a Hudson Valley road.

The Dutchess County Sheriff's Office says Monday that Joseph Christiano was riding an ATV at about 6:30 p.m. Saturday when he crashed on a curve and hit a tree in the town of Beekman, 65 miles north of New York City.

The teen was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Deputies say the cause of the accident remains under investigation, but unsafe speed appears to have been a factor.
