Oscars take social media by storm

Posted: Updated:

ALBANY, N.Y. -- Oscar night didn't disappoint, whether you watched for the award hand-outs or the fashions -- viewers kept NEWS10 connected to what they liked and what they didn't like about the big show, through our NEWS10 Facebook and Twitter pages--- starting with one of the most talked about Oscar moments--- red carpet Robin Roberts!

You guys tweeted and posted about the Good Morning America host showing up in a show-stopping royal blue Marc Bouwer gown -- but most of you talked about her battling back from a bone marrow transplant.

On Facebook, Karen Stella writes, "You look fabulous, Robin! Welcome back! Wishing you happiness and good health!"

And Richard Sealy says, "God bless you Robin. You have had your share trying times and a wonderful circle of people who care for you. I hope your health problems are all in the past."

Now to the fashions, there were some stunners on the red carpet tonight, but Halle Berry and Anne Hathaway were two standouts – for two entirely different reasons.

Hands down Halle was the social media stand-out of the night. Viewers sent in dozens of comments about the 46-year-old's stunning plunging metallic Versace gown.

Another talked about gown was Anne Hathaway's pale pink Prada number -- but people weren't talking about it because they loved it.

Many viewers commented that the stitching at the top of the gown looked a little, well, precariously placed and many thought the color washed-out.her complexion.
