PERU, Vt. -- Vermont State Police are investigating a fatal
snowmobile incident that occurred in Peru, Vt. on the south end of Griffith
Lake.
An initial investigation revealed that Verouzhan Bagramian,
45, of Cropseyville, N.Y. was traveling east on the Griffith Lake snowmobile
trail when the left ski of his snowmobile hit a section of ledge on the left
side of the trail causing him to lose control.
He was ejected from his snowmobile and thrown into a section of trees on
the right side of the trail.
Bagramian was quickly found by riders that were in his group
who called for help and started CPR. He
was pronounced dead at the scene by Londonderry Rescue Personnel.
He was wearing a helmet, which was lost during the
crash. Investigators say the chin strap
to the helmet was found secure and damage was noted on the right side of the
shield.
Londonderry Fire and Rescue, Windhall Police, Fire and
Rescue, VSP Auxiliary-Shaftsbury and members of the S. Londonderry Fire team
all assisted.
The crash remains under investigation at this time.
