ALBANY, N.Y. – Two men and a woman are in custody on drug and weapons
charges following the execution of search warrants at two separate locations in
Albany.
At 10:00 a.m. Wednesday,
Albany detectives and members of the Capital District Drug Enforcement
Administration Task Force, executed a search warrant at 22 Trinity Place as
part of an ongoing narcotics investigation. According to police, detectives
seized 631 bags of heroin, 74 grams of cocaine, as well as several items used
to package and weigh narcotics during the search. Detectives also recovered a
loaded .380 handgun.
Orlando Hughes, 33, of
Albany, Jason Burgos, 26, of Bronx N.Y., and Maite Rodriguez, 30, of Bronx,
N.Y., were all arrested at the scene.
They were each charged with
following:
- Criminal Possession of a
Controlled Substance 3rd-Degree
- Criminal Use of Drug
Paraphernalia 2nd-Degree
- Unlawful Possession of
Marijuana
- Criminal Possession of a
Weapon 3rd-Degree
- Criminal Possession of a
Weapon 2nd-Degree
At noon on the same day, a
second search warrant was executed at 97 Grand Street on the first floor as
part of the same investigation. Another loaded .380 handgun was recovered,
and Hughes was charged with an additional count of Criminal Possession of a
Weapon in the 2nd-Degree as a result.
All three were arraigned in
the Albany City Criminal Court and remanded to the Albany County Jail.
