Posted: Updated:

UPDATE: The City of Rensselaer has LIFTED the boil water alert as of 8 a.m. Monday, affecting the residents located I-90 south into the Port area.

RENSSELAER, N.Y. - The City of Rensselaer will be under a boil water advisory until at least Monday, Feb 25th due to a large break in the two million gallon water tank.

Rensselaer is experiencing issues resulting in little or no water pressure in areas from I-90 at Washington Avenue south to the Port of Rensselaer.

The Water Department is working to resolve the problem. The water issue is expected to last throughout the remainder of Friday.

City Hall will be closing at noon Friday due to this circumstance.

The fire department has aid on standby for any emergencies the city may have during this situation.

Non-drinkable water is available at the North-End Fire Station, and residents are asked to bring their own containers.
