SCHOHARIE, N.Y. -- A 42-year-old Summit man and a 14-year-old have been arrested after an investigation by four different law enforcement agencies into several stolen vehicles and burglaries.
Schoharie County Sheriff's Office, Cobleskill Police Department, New York State Police and the Otsego County Sheriff's Office were investigating several stolen vehicles and burglaries, which led to the arrest of James Livingston, 42, and the juvenile.
According to police, the two subjects stole the first vehicle not far from Mr. Livingston's residence, and then drove it until it was involved in an accident.
The two subjects then found a second vehicle in Otsego County, where it was taken and driven until it was involved in an accident in Schoharie County.
The two subjects then found a third vehicle in the Town of Richmondville, which was taken and then driven to the Walmart in the Village of Cobleskill.
The subjects were located in the store and taken into custody, as they were attempting to steal several items from the store.
Livingston faces several charges from each law enforcement agency:
- The Cobleskill Police Department -- Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 4th-Degree, Attempted Petit Larceny and Endangering the Welfare of a Child
- The Schoharie County Sheriff's Office -- Grand Larceny in the 4th-Degree and Endangering the Welfare of a Child
- The New York State Police -- two counts of Burglary in the 3rd-Degree, Grand Larceny in the 3rd-Degree and three counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child
The juvenile also faces charges:
- The Cobleskill Police Department -- for Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 4th-Degree
- The Schoharie County Sheriff's Office -- for Grand Larceny in the 4th-Degree
Both agencies issued a Juvenile Appearance Ticket to the juvenile, to appear at Schoharie County Probation at a later date. The Otsego County Sheriff's Office charges are still pending at this time.
Mr. Livingston was arraigned and remanded to jail on $5,000 cash bail, or $10,000 secured bond.
