HOOSICK, N.Y. -- A Rensselaer
County woman accused of killing a bicyclist while driving drugged claims she
only took prescription pills after the deadly accident -- not before.
In court Thursday,
the attorney for Becky Goodermote said she wasn't texting or talking on her phone
or under the influence of drugs at the time of the accident.
Goodermote
faces more than a dozen charges, including Vehicular Manslaughter.
Police
say she hit 39-year old Matthew Ratelle with her car and then left the
accident.
Ratelle
died weeks later after falling into a coma.
Police
arrested Goodermote after a relative told troopers she arrived home with damage
to her car that she couldn't explain.
