DANBURY, Conn. -- Vice President Biden took part in a conference on gun violence Thursday, just a few miles from the scene of the Newtown shootings.
The mother of a 7-year-old girl killed in the Sandy Hook Elementary School tragedy also spoke during the conference.
Lynn McDonnell and her husband are urging lawmakers to pass meaningful laws to help prevent another tragedy.
The conference, in Danbury, is to push President Obama's gun control proposals. It was organized by members of the state's congressional delegation.
