CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. - State Police are investigating an assault complaint occurring at a private residence in the town of Clifton Park.

Police say the 67-year-old resident answered his door on Sunday around 5:50 p.m. and was confronted by a white male subject who asked the victim his name, then struck him on the top of his head with a metal pipe.

The victim sustained a head laceration and was transported to St. Mary's Hospital in Troy where he was treated and released.

The suspect was described as a white male, in his 30's, approximately 5'10", 165 pounds, wearing a gray knit hat and dark zipper winter jacket.  He was operating a white SUV vehicle, possibly a Nissan Pathfinder (mid-2000's) that was last seen heading towards Clifton Park Center Road.
Anyone with any information regarding this incident is asked to contact the State Police at Clifton Park at 383-8583.
