SOUTH GLENS FALLS, N.Y. - Authorities have launched a second investigation following allegations that a mother hired strippers for her son's 16th birthday party.
Saratoga County District Attorney James Murphy says the South Glens Falls Police and the State Liquor Authority are investigating to see if any action needs to be taken against the Spare Time Bowling Center in South Glens Falls in connection to the case.
On Monday, 33-year-old Judy Viger, of Gansevoort, was arrested on five counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child for allegedly inviting the strippers to perform at her son's 16th birthday celebration at the bowling alley last November. Police say five of the party attendees were under the age of 17.
Spare Time released the following statement saying the "Spare Time Bowling Center can confirm that a private party did take place on November 3, 2013. The Spare Time Bowling Center neither arranged for (nor paid for) the entertainment that was provided at the party. Spare Time Bowling Center has been cooperating fully with the investigation and will continue to do so."
Photos posted on social networking sites were given to police by
people concerned about the party, held November 3rd at the Spare Time
bowling alley, on Saratoga Road.
At least one image showed a nearly nude, tattooed woman clinging
upside down to a seated teen, with her head between his knees and legs
wrapped around his neck, as others look on.
Viger faces a maximum sentence of up to one year in jail if convicted.
