ALBANY, N.Y. - First-year head coach of the Albany girl's varsity basketball team, Decky Lawson, took over a program rich in winning.
Current players helped lead the team to their third straight Big Ten regular season title.
But the interesting aspect about the way the Falcons run practice, is they bring in the Junior Falcons, young girls from third grade to sixth grade to practice throughout the season with the varsity team.
The Junior Falcons do everything the older girls do, from defensive drills down to sprints.
Coach Lawson says it's all about giving them positive role models while establishing a successful program for years to come.
