Fire breaks out at Watervliet duplex

WATERVLIET, N.Y. - Two families were forced from their home after a fire tore through the duplex in Watervliet Monday morning.

The residents who lived in the building at 1817 Fourth Avenue in Watervliet say the fire began in a downstairs bedroom around 9 a.m. and quickly spread.

No injuries were reported in the fire.

Chief Scott Skinner with the Watervliet Fire Department says the cause of the fire is undetermined but does not appear to be suspicious.
