SELKIRK, N.Y. – A house fire on Old Quarry Road in Selkirk Sunday afternoon was prolonged by windy weather conditions, according to fire officials.
The house, located at 66 Old Quarry Road, burned nearly to the ground.
No injuries were sustained, except by a fire-fighter who reported dust in one of his eyes.
The family that resides in the home was able to make it out safely, according to the Selkirk Fire Department.
The home will have to be demolished today, as fire-fighters worry that the wind will only continue to reignite the flames.
An investigation into the origin of the fire is ongoing.
