Librarian accused of sexual relationship with teen

QUEENSBURY, N.Y. - On Wednesday, the Warren County Sheriff's Office was called to the home of a Queensbury woman accused of having a sexual relationship with an underage male.

Deputies were sent to 2 Queens Way in Queensbury by the 15-year-old male's parents who discovered he was at the home of 33-year-old Abby Berkheimer after he had not returned home on time.

Following an investigation, it was determined the teen had been involved in a sexual relationship with Berkheimer since August.

Berkheimer works as a librarian at the Crandall Public Library in Glens Falls. According the library's website, she was announced as the new Teen Services Library Assistant, in "The Teen Center," in May 2012.

Police allege she met the teen while working at the library's Teen Center.

She has been charge with Rape 3rd-degree, Criminal Sex Act 3rd-degree and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

The investigation remains ongoing.
