No injuries when crane collapses in Saratoga

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. (AP) - Work is expected to resume at a construction site in downtown Saratoga Springs after a crane collapsed and landed on a sidewalk.
Officials with MLB Construction Services tell The Saratogian that no one was injured when the crane toppled over its cab late Tuesday afternoon. The crane was parked in the middle of a vacant lot adjacent to The Parting Glass, a popular Irish pub, and across the street from the newspaper.
The construction company says its preliminary investigation indicates that a lever malfunctioned and tipped the crane. No one was inside the crane when it collapsed.
The site will be the future home of Pavilion Grand, a mixed-use retail building and hotel.
Construction at the site is expected to resume Wednesday.
