ALBANY, N.Y. -- Albany police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred Sunday night on Grand Street.
Officers responded to the 100 block of Grand Street for a report of a robbery at 10:20 p.m. When officers arrived, the victim stated that a male and a female came to her apartment door and stated they were looking for a man that lived there. The victim told them that he was not home, and both suspects then entered the apartment with what appeared to be a shotgun and demanded her cell phone. She complied and both men fled the scene in a blue four door sedan which was operated by a third suspect.
The suspects are described as follows:
- White female, small build
- Black male, small build
- Black male, medium build
On January 29, 2013 members of the Community Response Unit executed a search warrant at the location as a result of an ongoing drug investigation. At this time detectives are trying to determine if there is a connection between that investigation and the robbery that occurred Sunday evening.
