LATHAM, N.Y. – Shaker High School seniors David Morrison, Schuyler Huntington and Ryan Griffin have been taking the field alongside one another since the flag football days of elementary school.
After a record-breaking season more than a decade later, the varsity teammates sat at each other's sides for National Signing Day as they committed to three different colleges where they plan to showcase their talents next year. The trio helped lead the program to win its first Section II Class AA title in November with a 14-0 victory over Shenendehowa. The Blue Bison made school history with a record 10 wins for the season, ultimately losing the state semifinals to New Rochelle 28-21.
With such a remarkable season, the high school football standouts each had a slew of schools from which to choose and finalized those decisions Wednesday. Shaker High School will officially send offensive tackle Morrison off to Dartmouth College. Huntington will head to The University of Maine, where he will continue to play defensive tackle. Griffin will be staying here in the Capital Region as one of the newest running backs to play for Coach Bob Ford at the University at Albany.
