SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY - In a quiet Saratoga Springs neighborhood, three paintball vandals hit several homes and cars, police say.
Tuesday morning Mindy Clear found her truck marked with green paint. "Probably 9:30 in the morning my son comes out and says mom your car just got paint balled," she tells us.
The side door of her truck along with the headlights and wind-shield were hit and she says she wasn't the only target in the neighborhood, saying two of her neighbors got hit as well.
State Trooper Mark Cepiel said there could be anywhere between 50 to 100 incidences of paintballs spread out over a wide area throughout Saratoga County.
State Police believe three 18-year-olds are behind drive-by paintball shooting spree. State police arrested Jordan Myers, Joseph Myers and Rebecca Schultz for criminal tampering.
Cepiel says that charge means significant damage was not done but the incident caused substantial inconvenience.
Troopers tracked down the three suspects after discovering large quantities of paintball material purchased from one local store.
Saratoga Springs Police and the Saratoga County Sheriff's Office is also looking into similar reports of paintball vandalism. Police say they believe the incidences are connected.
