ALBANY, N.Y. – More than 1,000 NYC and State charter school parents will travel to Albany on Tuesday to urge lawmakers to fairly represent public charter school children in the state budget and in policy decisions.
The parents will ask officials to grant charters pre-k funding and continue the support and continued growth of the charter school sector throughout the state.
Thirty-five busses are set to arrive in Albany at 9 a.m. in the morning at the Empire State Plaza Convention Center.
Senators Ruth Hassell-Thompson, Kevin Parker, and Marty Golden will be speaking, in addition to assembly members Carmen Arroyo, Eric Stevenson, and William Scarborough.
