ALBANY, N.Y. – Jury selection continues Tuesday in the trial of Yaqoob Chauhan.
Chauhan is accused of tying up his wife using dog leashes and holding her hostage for hours in 2012. During that time it's alleged that he assaulted her several times while children were nearby.
According to police, Chauhan, who moved to the Albany from Pakistan, skipped town and headed to Maryland where he was picked up two weeks later by U.S. Marshalls in Baltimore.
He was indicted in May 2012 on a felony charge of predatory sex act which carries a sentence of 25-years-to-life if found guilty.
