ALBANY, N.Y. -- State officials say they've started a project to save energy at a state office building.
They've also wrapped up an upgrade of the steam plant that serves the downtown Albany's Empire State Plaza.
They say the nearly $2 million in work at the plant and the Harriman State Office Building campus will save about $220,000 a year in energy costs and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
The projects are part of a plan to improve energy efficiency at state facilities by 20 percent over the next seven years.
