WILTON, N.Y. - Luckily there were no fatalities or serious injuries in the 30-car pile up on
the Northway Saturday night, but one tow truck driver says it was still a
hectic scene.
Tow truck operator Christopher Busta was contacted by State Police on Saturday night to help with emergency assistance on the Northway, where the accident occurred between exits 15 and 16.
Police say as many as eight towing companies were called to help after a snow
squall created hazardous road conditions. His company towed away three of the thirty cars involved in the
accident.
"It was just wall-to-wall cars," Busta describes. "It looked like something you'd see in a movie. It was just odd to see that many and where they were
scattered - off to the left, to the right, just everywhere."
Busta says the scene was bad, but it could have been a lot worse.
The best advice if you find yourself driving in snowy or icy conditions? Slow down.
