ALBANY, N.Y. – 73-year-old Rita Fiscarelli, of Albany, won $1 million dollars off a scratch-off ticket at an Albany Stewart's Shop on Sunday.
The winning ticket was a '20X the Bucks' scratch-off ticket, purchased at the 285 New Scotland Avenue location.
Rita says she's lucky, because originally she didn't even want the ticket.
"I don't know how I managed to win," said Rita. "I wasn't going to take this ticket. And she said it's $5 and I said, okay. Because usually I buy the $2 ones, and I said I'll have one, and this was the lucky ticket!"
Rita, who is retired, says it hasn't quite sunk in yet, that she won the million dollars.
She says she plans to hire a lawyer who can help advise her with what to do with her new jackpot.
