HORICON, N.Y. - A man from the Town of Horicon was arrested on charges of driving while intoxicated and reckless driving, after he drove alone onto Brant Lake and broke through the ice.
Stuart Mead, 60, of 1216 Palisades Road, was uninjured, and able to extract himself from the sinking vehicle and walk to land for help.
Police say Mead refused to take a breath test. He was arraigned at the Town of Horicon Court, paid the $10,000 bail and is scheduled to appear at a later date.
Mead's vehicle will be removed from Brant Lake on Saturday, according to police.
