ALBANY, N.Y. -- A DWI sweep in Albany County netted an unusual arrest Friday -- a driver of a backhoe swerving down Central Avenue.
Albany police arrested Jesus Ofarril, 44, of Troy, after they saw him speeding and swerving along the street in the backhoe.
Through the course of the investigation, it was determined that Ofarril's blood alcohol content was 0.18 percent.
Inside the cab of the back hoe were cans of beer that police poured out before another driver came to take the backhoe away.
Ofarril was charged with Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated and Aggravated Unlicensed Operator 1st-Degree, and also ticketed for several vehicle and traffic violations.
He was arraigned this morning in the Albany City Criminal Court.
