BALLSTON SPA, N.Y. - A Saratoga County woman was indicted on murder charges Wednesday for allegedly shooting her boyfriend at their Schuylerville apartment last July.
The District Attorney has indicted 28-year-old Joey Paul on Murder 2nd-degree, Manslaughter 2nd-degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd-degree for allegedly killing 28-year-old Matthew Furlani at the apartment the couple shared at 82 Church Street in the Village of Schuylerville.
Saratoga County District Attorney James Murphy says police were called to the scene on July 1st by neighbors who heard a gunshot coming from the apartment. Upon arrival, Furlani was found dead from a gunshot wound.
Murphy says a large caliber rifle was secured at the scene. Furlani was unarmed and Paul was uninjured. Murphy says there is no allegation of self defense in the incident.
Her arraignment is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Friday.
