Saratoga Springs PD investigating bank robbery

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – Police are investigating a robbery at the Trustco Bank in the Congress Street Plaza Monday.

Saratoga Springs police responded to the bank and secured the scene, searching the area and interviewing employees.

The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 5'9" – 5'10", dressed in black sweat pants with a white string hanging out, black zip-up hoodie, with a black baseball cap. The suspect was also carrying a grey Walmart shopping bag.

The suspect indicated to the teller that he was in possession of a handgun, but it is unknown at this time if he was armed.

The suspect left the bank and was last seen headed south towards Hamilton Street. It is unknown at this time the amount of money that was taken from the bank.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Saratoga Springs Police Department at 584-1800. The investigation is on-going and further information will be released as it is made available.
