CAPITOL REGION, N.Y. – One lane in each direction will be closed beginning on Monday on the Dunn Memorial Bridge between Albany and Rensselaer.
The closures are scheduled for the removal of screening installed to protect falcon nest boxes, which are underneath the span of the bridge, across the Hudson River.
The screening was installed in February 2011 to protect the falcon nest boxes before construction work started on the bridge. Now the screening is not necessary, as the rest of the work on the bridge will not cause danger to the falcon nest boxes.
All nest boxes have as of yet been undisturbed during the construction work that has been taking place on the bridge.
One lane on the Dunn Memorial Bridge will be closed, with the two others remaining open in each direction, beginning on Monday, January 28th, at 9:00 a.m. and lasting through the afternoon of February 8th.
