NISKAYUNA, N.Y. -- Bellevue Woman's Center debuted it's new Women and Heart Disease program Thursday, hoping to make women as aware of their heart health as they are of breast cancer.
The
Women & Heart Disease program is housed in the new Neil and Jane Golub
Breast & Heart Health Center
at Bellevue Woman's Center. The Golub's generous support and commitment
to improving the health of the community is demonstrated with the "one-stop
shop" for women's health needs. As one of its first patients, Jane Golub
is hoping to lead the charge for women to prevent heart disease by
understanding it and making the right lifestyle choices.
While heart disease is the leading cause of death of women, most don't know their risk or understand that their symptoms differ from men.
After evaluating their risk, the program aims to educate women about the warning signs of a heart attack.
The Ellis Women & Heart Disease program is now seeing
patients. Screenings cost $25 and are held at Bellevue Woman's Center Monday – Friday
from 7 a.m. – 5 p.m. Screenings can be scheduled by calling 518.243.3333.
