ALBANY, N.Y. - The Albany Police Department has charged two men for allegedly stealing musical instruments played in Sunday services at a local church.
Police say officers responded to the Powerhouse City of Deliverance Church, located at 320 Sheridan Avenue, around 10 p.m. Sunday for the report of the burglary.
Police say 22-year-old Joshua Berrien and 26-year-old Joseph Rochford, both from Albany, entered the church earlier that day and stole several musical instruments, microphones, and speakers belonging to the church
band.
Evan Majors, the pastor at the Church, says he and other parishioners
returned from a church-sponsored excursion Sunday night to find that all
the musical items missing. Majors said the loss adds up to about $20,000.
All of the items stolen during the burglary have been recovered.
Berrien has been charged with Burglary 3rd, Grand Larceny 3rd, and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 3rd. Rochford was charged with Burglary 3rd and Grand Larceny 3rd.
