Sheriff: Queensbury man struck dog with shovel

QUEENSBURY, N.Y. - A Queensbury man has been arrested after he allegedly struck his dog in the nose with a shovel.

The Warren County Sheriff's Office assisted Queensbury Town Animal Control in arresting 37-year-old Mark Carvin, of Warren Lane in Queensbury. Carvin has been charged with animal cruelty after officers say he struck his Labrador/Sheppard mix with a shovel, causing a laceration to the animal's nose.

The dog was later seized by the town animal control officer and Carvin was released with an appearance ticket.
