ALBANY, N.Y. - Governor Andrew Cuomo released his education budget for 2013 during the executive budget address Tuesday.
Tim Kremer is the executive director of the NYS School Boards Association. He knows first hand that a lack of adequate funding can have a devastating affect on a school district.
But Kremer, after reading over Governor Cuomo's education budget, says the governor is on the right track.
Kremer says schools will like what they see as far as how much money is being allotted in certain areas of education. He's also very pleased with the percentage increase in funding and to whom much of that funding will go.
However, Kremer's one concern was some of school board members may not like what they see from a policy standpoint.
The education budget must now pass in the legislature. Kremer says, from what he sees, he thinks there should be no problem getting this budget approved by the legislature.
