EAST GREENBUSH, N.Y. - The East Greenbush Police Department says they have arrested an 18-year-old man they say attempted to rob a female victim as she sat in the driver seat of her vehicle while in the parking lot of Hannaford Plaza.
Police say Zackery Davis-Todd, of Castleton, was being restrained on the ground by a Good Samaritan upon their arrival to 598 Columbia Turnpike Tuesday afternoon. East Greenbush police responded to an emergency call from the victim who claimed Davis-Todd entered the passenger side of her vehicle to steal her purse, which contained two credit cards and $31.
During the processing of Davis–Todd, police questioned him about a report of a similar incident that had occurred in the same plaza on Dec. 15, 2012, in which a female victim claimed the suspect had entered the passenger side of her vehicle and attempted to steal her cell phone from out of her hand. Davis-Todd later confessed to previous incident.
In connection with both cases, Davis-Todd was charged with Petit Larceny, Robbery in the Third Degree, two counts of Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree and Unlawful Imprisonment in the Second Degree. He is being held in Rensselaer County Jail and is scheduled to appear in East Greenbush Town Court on Jan. 24, 2013.
