WASHINGTON -- A local man and his family had the honor of witnessing the 57th presidential inauguration from just yards away from where President Obama took his second oath of office.
George Sokaris and his two children waited for hours alongside an estimated 700,000 other spectators for the star studded event to begin.
Despite having to wait in the cold since sunrise, he says it was experience of a lifetime.
"Oh, man for me it was absolutely incredible. It was my first time to an inauguration -- only my second time to Washington, and the experience was the people. Just exchanging ideas and listening to how proud they were to have President Obama as their president," said Sokaris.
