Posted: Updated:

ALBANY, N.Y. – Capital Region residents took to the streets of Albany for the Beloved Community March Monday.

To honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s legacy Monday, the annual Beloved Community March brought people of all colors, ages, and walks of life to the monument memorializing the civil rights icon.

The march began before noon at the Plaza Concourse entrance on Madison Avenue, and concluded at the King Monument in Lincoln Park with a wreath laying ceremony.

More than 100 marchers attended a wreath-laying ceremony at the monument, but it wasn't a somber celebration. The mood was upbeat and uplifting.
