
TROY, N.Y. --Education was the theme of a breakfast Monday to honor Martin Luther King, Jr.
The event, The Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Scholarship Breakfast Program, was hosted by the Troy area United Ministries followed Sunday's interfaith service.
This morning's breakfast included keynote speaker, Dr. Betty Shadrick, the assistant dean of graduate studies at U-Albany.
Proceeds from both events went to a scholarship program for young people" to carry on king's dream."
Sixty-eight students have received scholarships for higher education from the program.
