ALBANY, N.Y. - A local pastor tells NEWS10 a thief has stolen musical instruments his young parishioners played in their Sunday services.
Evan Majors is the pastor at the Power House City of Deliverance Church on Sheridan Avenue. Pastor Majors says he and other parishioners returned from a church-sponsored excursion Sunday night to find that all the musical instruments and the sound system was missing.
Pastor Majors says he did not have rental insurance, and the loss adds up to about $20,000.
"What am I going to do next? I am hoping they will have a change of heart and they will either bring it back, or that somebody's heart will be touched to donate," Pastor Majors says. "It's not what we had, but it's something to get us started back on into helping he community."
Albany Police are investigating the theft. They say there is no evidence of forced entry.
Pastor Majors says he believes someone may have hidden inside the second-floor sanctuary, waiting for the church to close after Sunday services and then stole the items.
