From the Warren County Sheriff's DepartmentQUEENSBURY, N.Y. – The Aviation Mall in Queensbury was swarming with law enforcement officials in the early morning on Sunday, as part of an "active shooter" training exercise.
The Warren County Sheriff's Office's emergency response team began the training exercise at 5:00 a.m.
Safety, evacuation and detainment tactics were reviewed and practiced by the response team, according to Sheriff York.
The Sheriff's Office maintains that the drill and exercise is part of regular, "routine training," that ensures public safety at the mall.
Sunday's training effort was requested by mall management, according to the Sheriff's Department.
