NISKAYUNA, N.Y. – The Niskayuna Moms on the Run held a memorial run/walk in honor the 26 children and teachers killed in the Sandy Hook tragedy.
The 5K course started and ended at the town hall, looping through Orchard Park. A $25 donation was encouraged.
According to the organization, per the request of Sandy hook families, a portion of the funds will be distributed locally.
One-hundred percent of your donation will help three causes:
The Newtown Park Gift Fund to build a memorial in honor of the teachers and children lost at Sandy Hook
The Van Antwerp Middle School Best Buddies Program
Niskayuna Fire Department in honor of Grace Kline, a 14-year-old Van Antwerp student who passed away on Jan. 4, 2013 as a result of a fire in her home.
