ALBANY, N.Y. -- Albany police are investigating two separate commercial armed robberies that occurred in the City of Albany.
On Friday Jan.11, 2013 at 4:00 a.m., officers responded to Exxon, located at 553 Washington Ave. for a report of a robbery. When officers arrived, the clerk stated that two males entered the store armed with what appeared to be a handgun and demanded money. The clerk said that he complied and the suspects fled with an undisclosed amount of cash and several packs of cigarettes.
Suspects are described as follows:
- Black male, 5'8", 120 lbs., wearing a black jacket and dark pants.
- Black male, 140 lbs., wearing a dark grey jacket, darks pants, and a white hooded sweatshirt.
On the same day at approximately 7:45 p.m., officers responded to Capital Discount, located at 107 Central Ave. for a report of a robbery. When officers arrived, the clerk stated that two males entered the store armed with what appeared to be a handgun and demanded money. The clerk told police that suspects took the cash register from the counter and fled the scene.
Suspects in this robbery are described as follows:
- Black male, 30 years of age, 5'6", 190 lbs., wearing a white, black, and gray plaid coat, dark jeans, and grey hat.
- Black male, 20 years of age, 5'7", 140lbs., wearing an orange sweatshirt, blue jeans, and a mask covering his face.
