LAKE GEORGE, N.Y. (AP) - Officials on Lake George are trying to make sure faulty septic systems don't leak into the Adirondack waterway.
Town of Lake George officials say there are leaking septic systems in the Diamond Point area along streams and the shoreline. They want to pinpoint which septic systems are failing and possibly polluting Lake George.
Officials tell the Post-Star of Glens Falls that they are discussing a plan in which residents would be registered and a town worker would go door to door to gather information about septic systems. Then the town could hold appropriate property owners accountable for fixing their systems.
