Albany police investigating 2nd incident of shots fired in 2 days


ALBANY, N.Y. - Police in Albany are investigating an incident of shots fired that occurred Thursday morning inside a convenience store on Ontario Street.

Around 8:20 a.m., police responded to The Stadium Deli and Grocery at 82 Ontario Street for a report of shots fired. When officers arrived, the clerk stated that a man had entered the store and began to cause a commotion. The clerk states that the suspect then displayed a handgun and fired one shot while still inside the store.

The only two people inside the store at the time were employees. Neither were injured during the incident.

This incicent comes one day after shots were fired in another Albany convenience store, Shahbain Deli and Grocery, on Lexington Avenue. In that case, the suspect entered the store demanding money and fired one shot.

The investigation is ongoing for both incidents.
