Clifton Park woman charged with vehicular manslaughter
BALLSTON SPA, N.Y. - A Clifton Park woman has been charged with vehicular manslaughter after being involved in an accident, which later killed the other driver, while she was allegedly driving drunk.
The Saratoga County Sheriff's Office says 39-year-old Traci Briskin, of Clifton Park Center Road, struck a vehicle driven by 49-year-old Thomas Baker at the intersection of Route 67 and Jockey Street in the town of Charlton on November 30, 2012.
Baker was transported to Albany Medical Center with injuries after the accident and succumbed to those injuries on December 23, 2012.
Briskin was initially charged failing to stop for a stop sign, DWI, and vehicular assault. Wednesday, the Sheriff's Office has additionally charged her with second-degree vehicular manslaughter due to Baker's death.
Briskin has been released on $20,000 bail bond and is due back in Charlton Court on a later date.
