Police investigating armed robbery at Albany convenience store

ALBANY, N.Y. - Albany police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred at a Lexington Avenue convenience store Wednesday morning.

Around 10:15 a.m. officers responded to Shahbain Deli and Grocery, located at 115 Lexington Avenue, for a report of a robbery. When officers arrived the clerk stated that a male had entered the store with what appeared to be a handgun and demanded money.

Police say the suspect fired one shot from the handgun while inside the store and fled the scene without getting any cash.

No one was injured during the incident.

The investigation is ongoing.
